After Sir Isaac Newton created calculus, this form of mathematics was used in order to enable Apollo engineers to travel to the moon in 1969. Without Newton's contribution, we may have never gotten the chance to land somebody on the moon.
Reflecting TelescopeIsaac Newton built a prototype of the reflecting telescope to present to the Royal Society of London. His work was impressive and he was invited to join the Royal Society. Forms of this reflecting telescope can be found and are used in most existing astronomical observatories.
AirbagNewton's laws of motion have helped with several modern inventions. His first law (every object persists in its state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed on it) contributed to the invention on the airbag. An airbag opens up before force pushes the body forward.
Cat DoorWhen Sir Isaac Newton would study, he was often interrupted by his cat scratching at his door. He requested a carpenter to saw two holes, one small and one big, in his door. The big hole was for the cat and the small one was for her kittens. Many people today have a cat door and we have Sir Isaac Newton to thank for it.
